Psalm 50:23 NKJV[23] Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”

Let us do exactly that this morning. Offer praises to God to glorify Him now.

Jeremiah 52:4-6 NKJV[4] Now it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem and encamped against it; and they built a siege wall against it all around. [5] So the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah. [6] By the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, the famine had become so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.

WHAT IS A SIEGE?

1. A siege is a military strategy which seeks to launch an attack against the enemy by isolating the enemy from help and supply.

2. It is a prolonged and persistent warfare to overwhelm and overcome the opponent.

3. The word siege is from the Latin word sedicum which means seat.

4. A nation, city, family or person under a siege has become a seat or footstool of the enemy.

5. A siege will result in total lockdown and unless ended, the lockdown becomes a knockdown.

6. A siege is a terrible affliction that can make the afflicted do the unthinkable.

A young boy was besieged by bullies until he couldn’t take it anymore and he committed suicide.

In 2Kings 6, the king of Syria laid a siege against the Israel city of Samaria. The siege led to severe famine to the point that women began to kill and eat their babies for food.

A siege causes famine, recession, lack, losses to the point of paralysing the victims of the siege.

When an attacking force wants to force the opponent to her knees, a siege is the warfare strategy. Cut off all supplies of basic necessities of life, starve them and you will stop them.

7. From the foregoing, you will agree that the Coronavirus is a siege of the enemy against the world.

8. A siege is when the problems of life attacks a person from every side. The problems could be spiritual, physical, marital, financial or otherwise.

But for the mercies of the Lord, the siege of covid19 would have consumed more than it has done. But for the mercies of the Lord, the siege of covid19 would have not just locked us down but would have knocked us down and out as well.

THIS WEEK, OUR PROPHETIC CONFERENCE DECLARES THAT THE SIEGE IS OVER.

EVERY PROBLEM THAT LOOKS LIKE A SIEGE IN OUR LIVES IS OVER in the name of Jesus.

THIS WEEK, WE WILL BE LEARNING MORE ABOUT A SIEGE AND HOW TO OVERCOME THEM.

TODAY, I WILL BRIEFLY MENTION A DIVINE STRATEGY THAT CAN TERMINATE OR. BREAK ANY SIEGE.

IT IS CALLED SIEGE BREAKING OR SIEGE TERMINATING PRAISE.

2Chro.20:1-20

1. Some three powerful nations declared war against the tiny small nation of Judah.

2. Part of their war strategies would be to lay a siege against Judah, cut off supplies from the city, force a famine upon them, overwhelm them with hardship, make them their footstool and force them to surrender.

3. King Jehoshaphat of Judah called the people to a day of fasting and prayer in Jerusalem.

4. They assembled in the temple at Jerusalem and petitioned God. Reminding him of his promise to deliver them from enemy siege of famine, plague or war when they cry to him for intervention.

5. They confessed their helplessness in the face of the siege of the enemy. Covid-19 siege had almost turned many nations helpless in view of the lack of solution or cure for it.

DIVINE SOLUTION.

1. As the people prayed to God, the Spirit of God descended upon a man amongst them who was a descendant of a Psalmist, Musician called Asaph. The name of the man was Jahaziel.

2. He told them what God had just said. That He the Lord will take over their battle and they would not need to lift up a finger. The people should just watch God give them victory.

3.King Jehoshaphat, a descendant of King DAVID, the God praiser, and Judah whose name means praise, knew what to do with the prophesy they had just received.

Many know the promises of a God but don’t know what to do to claim his promises.

4. When God says He will fight their battle, the king knew the next thing to do to bring Him down to the battle field was to praise Him. Ps.22:3. 2Chro.5.

WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF GOD, YOU CAN ACTIVATE THE PERFORMANCE THROUGH PRAISE.

5. The king appointed singers who began to sing praises to the Lord on their way to the battlefield. They were singing:

Glory be to God in the Highest Amen
For His mercies endureth forever,

6. Truly, the Lord came down. He turned the enemies of Judah against themselves. They began to fight and destroy one another. They completely annihilated one another. When the praising and singing army of Judah got to the battlefield, all those who declared a siege against them had died.

7. King Jehoshaphat and his men had no battle to fight, they had blessings to gather. The equipments, clothing, gold, silver and valuables of their enemies were there in abundance. They gathered for three days and could not finish packing the plunder.

THE VALLEY OF BATTLE BECAME THE VALLEY OF BLESSINGS.

THE SIEGE WAS OVER BECAUSE THEY PRAISED AND THANKED GOD. A MIGHTY SIEGE BREAKING WEAPON.

THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE OUTCOME.

2 Chronicles 20:26 NLT[26] On the fourth day they gathered in the Valley of Blessing, which got its name that day because the people praised and thanked the LORD there. It is still called the Valley of Blessing today.

NOTE THAT THE VALLEY OF SIEGE BATTLE BECAME THE VALLEY OF BLESSING (BERACHAH) BECAUSE THE PEOPLE PRAISED AND THANKED THE LORD.

YOUR VALLEY CAN GET A NEW NAME SIMPLY BECAUSE OF PRAISING AND THANKING GOD.

1. Valley of sickness becomes healing and deliverance.
2. Valley of scarcity becomes abundance and prosperity,
3. Valley of barrenness becomes fruitfulness.
4. Valley of failure becomes success etc.

Isaiah 62:2 NKJV[2] The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.

The Ridiculous produced the miraculous. The siege was over.

WHY DONT WE BEGIN HALLELUJAH LIVING NOW.

Colossians 4:2 NKJV[2] Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

LUKE 17:15-16. Out of 10 lepers who were healed by JESUS, the only one that pleased God was the one that turned back and came to surrender in praise and thanksgiving to JESUS.

You may not be born again, yet you are there and you know God has been merciful to you. The way to express your gratitude and be acceptable to God is to come and surrender to JESUS now, fall at His feet and begin to serve and worship Him alone.
